Kari Lerum speaks on claiming competence and writes on human trafficking

February 19, 2014 - IAS faculty member Kari Lerum spoke at "Claiming Competence: Women of Color and the Academy," an event sponsored by the UW Women of Color Collective, and featured members of WIRED (Women Investigating Race, Ethnicity and Difference) and editors/writers of Presumed Incompetent: The Intersections of Race and Class for Women in Academia to address the complex ways in which race, class and gender operate in the academy.  Lerum also published “Human Wrongs vs. Human Rights” in a collection of critical viewpoint essays on the subject of human trafficking in the journal Contexts.
