IAS faculty members engage each other in creative work at the UW Whiteley Center

IAS faculty members Gavin Doyle, Kristin Gustafson, Susan Waters, and Martha Groom (pictured, left to right) participated in a retreat at the Whiteley Center on San Juan Island. Their "writing and creation retreat" (April 30 through May 3) is one of two sponsored annually by IAS, funded by IAS's Initiatives to Develop Interdisciplinary Scholarship and Collaboration (I-DISCO). The Whitely Center is a refuge for established scholars and artists to study, write, create, and interact in a peaceful and quiet environment. That weekend, Doyle and Gustafson worked on new book projects, while Groom and Waters collaborated on next steps in the Urban Pollination Project
