03/06/2018 Alum Natalia Valdez (’11, Society, Ethics & Human Behavior) joined forces with UW Bothell Career Services to host a panel discussion with Boeing colleagues representing the areas of Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Procurement/Systems/IT, and Human Resources. Students across majors attended to learn about their career paths, day-to-day responsibilities, and the company culture. For job seekers, panelists recommended finding connections at Boeing and conducting informational interviews to get the inside track. Internships are another common entry point, and while competitive, offered regularly. Valdez is a procurement agent at Boeing in aircraft materials and structures, supporting Asia Operations. Panelists discussed Boeing’s culture of training and support of ongoing education. Valdez’s trajectory exemplifies Boeing’s value of education, as she’s currently pursuing an MBA. She urged students to be persistent, noting that she submitted more than 100 applications before landing her first role at the company.
