Becca Price Publishes Suggestions for how to Update Teaching Evolution

IAS faculty member Becca Price and her co-author Kathryn Perez published “Beyond the Adaptationist Legacy: Updating our Teaching to Include a Diversity of Evolutionary Mechanisms.”   Based on research conducted at several colleges and universities, the article suggests that evolution can be taught more effectively by paralleling advances in evolutionary research. They propose moving away from a model that overemphasizes natural selection, advocating instead for an approach that teaches many different methods of evolution.
