Kristin Gustafson recognized by two Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication divisions

IAS faculty member, Kristin Gustafson, was recognized for her research and leadership at the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (AEJMC). She received second place in the faculty paper award in the Visual Communication Division for an article co-authored with Dr. Linda Jean Kenix, (University of Canterbury (New Zealand): “Visually Framing Press Freedom and Responsibility of a Massacre: Photographic and Graphic Images in Charlie Hedbo's Newspaper Front Pages Around the World.”  She also began a one-year elected position as teaching chair of AEJMC's History Division. And she completed three consecutive one-year terms as the division's membership chair (during which time she spearhead the "Generations of Scholars" mentoring program that brings junior and senior scholars together through interviews that result in a published article in the division's newsletter Clio).
