Student Housing Community Advisers
Andrew
I was born in Seattle and grew up on Mercer Island. I enrolled at U. of Washington Bothell in fall 2007. I worked for the YMCA K-6 Grade Program and served as an Orientation Leader during my freshman year. During my sophomore year I worked as a bank teller and began my position as Student Orientation Coordinator. The experience I gain from the coordinator position is instrumental in my personal development and I am lucky to have this opportunity. I am also a Community Advisor for UWB’s first housing program. My favorite thing about this position is that I get to live in a close-knit community of diverse students. Because UWB is growing and maturing, there are so many opportunities to help shape the identity of this institution. I am interested in music, auto sports, fashion & style, and brain science. But, as a busy student I am most interested in staying on top of my work.
Ashley
My name is Ashley and I am 22 years old. I am currently finishing my last quarter of undergraduate studies in Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences and I will be starting my Masters of Education. I absolutely adore my dogs and enjoy spending time with them. I hope to one day have my own dog rescue. I love travel and cultural studies. I recently spent 5 months traveling and studying abroad and I would say it was the greatest experience of my life thus far. I am also interested in alternative medicine, cooking, and trying new things!
John
My earliest memories are of red African soil; my parents and I lived in Kenya and Uganda after I was born in Davis, California. With work, an American education for their children and my mother’s family we moved to the States at the beginning of Grade school, and that’s when I visit my first arcade. I became a regular at the local arcades and became fascinated with technology. Setting up computer networks where ever I go, I worked with friends in high school to run our own computer consulting company. Now I am a senior at the University Of Washington Bothell in the Computer Software and Systems program and I am very excited to be on one of the most advance schools in the country, and I have high hopes for what technology can do for my friends and family in Africa.
