The Case for International Education
There is a growing body of research related to international and intercultural learning in higher education, including study abroad. Recent studies have demonstrated a positive impact of study abroad participation on student retention and success towards completion of a college degree. A recent article published in Inside Higher Ed summarizes the research.
The Center for Global Education at the UCLA Graduate School of Education and Information Studies collects, edits, and provides a searchable database of study abroad research. UW Bothell student, Aaron Huston, compiled a bibliography of intercultural education research after returning from a study abroad experience in Japan.
Working and Interning Abroad
In April 2013, Global Initiatives, in partnership with the Career Center, hosted an information session for students and recent graduates about working abroad.
