Global Engagement through Technology Symposium

The symposium, hosted by UW Bothell Global Initiatives and the Teaching and Learning Center, will bring together faculty, staff and administrators from the Pacific Northwest - and beyond! - interested in implementing international collaboration components into courses across the curriculum and sharing best practices to create a physical and virtual learning community. We invite you to share in our learning.
The program will include:
Introduction to globally networked learning using the Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) model.
Discussion about institutional support to scale up international collaboration across the curriculum.
Examples of technology-enabled international collaboration with various stakeholders at area institutions.
Panel discussion with representatives from local businesses to provide real-life examples of virtual collaboration, working with people from other cultures, and the value of global competence in the workplace.
Breakfast, lunch and a coffee break.

All sessions will be held in Discovery Hall, the newest building on the UW Bothell campus and home to the School of STEM.
We are grateful for financial support from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation Area and International Studies grant, administered by the UW Jackson School of International Studies, which is allowing us to greatly reduce the cost to participants.

A block of rooms for out-of-town guests has been reserved at the Country Inn & Suites By Carlson. The rate for Thu-Sat stays is $99 per night. The hotel, located at 19333 North Creek Parkway in Bothell, is within walking distance to campus. A free local shuttle is also available.
