Save the Date for a Pacific Northwest Symposium on Global Engagement through Technology

The symposium, hosted by UW Bothell Global Initiatives and the Teaching and Learning Center, will bring together faculty, staff and administrators from the Pacific Northwest - and beyond! - interested in implementing international collaboration components into courses across the curriculum and sharing best practices to create a physical and virtual learning community. We invite you to share in our learning:

Global Engagement through Technology

Topics of interest include (but, as always, are not limited to):

  • Creating courses and assessing student learning in a context of Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL);
  • Using specific social media and technology platforms;
  • Developing institutional support to scale up international collaboration across the curriculum efforts;
  • Engaging with international partners in the classroom and beyond;
  • Developing faculty research agendas;
  • COIL and undergraduate research opportunities.

Proposals are welcome in the following categories:

  1. Posters describing specific collaborative online international learning (COIL) courses
  2. Panels
  3. Individual presentations
  4. Mini-workshops

All sessions should aim to be highly interactive and will be scheduled in blocks of 30 and 60 minutes. For priority consideration, please submit your proposal via the online submission form by Tuesday, July 1, 2014.
