Global Engagement through Technology Symposium

The symposium, hosted by UW Bothell Global Initiatives and the Teaching and Learning Center, brought together faculty, staff and administrators from the Pacific Northwest - and beyond! - interested in implementing international collaboration components into courses across the curriculum and sharing best practices to create a physical and virtual learning community.
The program included:
Introduction to globally networked learning using the Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) model.
Discussion about institutional support to scale up international collaboration across the curriculum.
Examples of technology-enabled international collaboration with various stakeholders at area institutions.
Panel discussion with representatives from local businesses to provide real-life examples of virtual collaboration, working with people from other cultures, and the value of global competence in the workplace.
