Institutional Partnerships

UW Bothell has formalized partnerships with several foreign universities and programs to facilitate collaboration and student exchange.

Ehime University | Matsuyama, Japan

What started as a partnership between the Computing and Software Systems program at UW Bothell and an engineering department at Ehime University has grown to include: faculty collaboration, staff exchange, and short-term study abroad programs exploring topics ranging from nuclear energy to diversity and leadership development in higher education. With mutually beneficial programs and strong institutional support on both sides, we hope to continue short-term exchange programs, deepen faculty research connections, and add the possibility term-long student exchanges.

Kwansei Gakuin University | Nishinomiya, Japan

Kwansei Gakuin University (KGU) is a prestigious private university centrally located in the Kansai Region of Japan and recent recipient of a Global 30 Plus Grant from the Japanese government that facilitates international exchange activities for faculty, students and staff. KGU emphasizes global, practical and interdisciplinary education, which aligns well with UW Bothell’s vision and core values. Plans are underway to begin student exchange in 2014.

University of BergamoUniversity of Bergamo | Bergamo, Italy

Partnership with the University of Bergamo in Italy started with a collaborative publication. Since then, Bergamo's Center for Economic and Law Studies brought students for the UWB Business School's 2012 Global Classroom program and a direct exchange of students was initiated during Autumn Quarter 2012.

Scientific Mobility Program | Brazil

UW Bothell is a host institution for the Brazilian Scientific Mobility Program. Brazilian students in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) fields spend one year studying at UWB and then return to their home country to complete their degree. The program, administered by the Instititue of International Education (IIE), is part of the Brazilian government's larger initiative to grant 100,000 scholarships for the best students from Brazil to study abroad at top universities worldwide.
