Sandeep shared information with the EC on the meeting with Faculty Senate Chair, Doug Wadden and Faculty Senate Vice Chair, Ross Heath. Senate leadership met with UWB Executive Council, the UW Senators from UWB and the faculty to open a dialogue on the Tri-Campus Task Force, authorized by President Lee Huntsman. Sandeep also informed the EC regarding the meeting that Jack Meszaros attended this Saturday on Tri-Campus issues and the task force. He stated that there are four areas of focus:

Autonomy and integration balance for UWB was discussed and the importance of communicating our vision for this campus. Current legislative issues have an impact on UWB and the faculty are committed to maintaining a strong voice on the direction of the campus. Under current legislation, the term "comprehensive" university is not defined.

Report back: EC's Working Group on Faculty Resources/Opportunities

Andrea submitted the revised Working Document related to Faculty Salary Issues, DRAFT #5 to the EC for comment and input. The EC suggested some amendments to the document. Salary issues of equity between UWB programs and equity with UW and UWT must be addressed campus wide. This document will recommend a task force be created to address these issues. Action item: Andrea will draft a new document with the amendments.

Motion: The final draft of the Working Document related to Faculty Salary Issues will be submitted to the Faculty Council.

The motion carried - 4 yes, 2 abstain.

Discussion item: P & T Document from CSS

CSS has requested that the EC review the CSS Promotion and Tenure Guidelines document for comment and input. The EC agreed that programs should keep a consistent message to balance scholarship, teaching and service; faculty goals must align with program needs.
