Verification is a quality-control method used by the U.S. Department of Education to check the accuracy of information submitted on the FAFSA. All schools that disburse federal Title IV funds are required to participate in the verification process.

If you are selected for verification you will receive an e-mail or a datamailer sent via U.S. Mail requesting the required verification materials from you. Please read these e-mails and mailers carefully. We cannot accept electronic responses to verification request e-mails. Please print all e-mails and follow the instructions provided.

Please note that you must make your own copies of any information requested from you. If you are asked for a copy of any documentation, please do not submit original documents.

Though the e-mail or return address for verification requests are sent from the UW Seattle Financial Aid office, UW Bothell students may turn in their required documents to the UW Bothell Financial Aid and Scholarship Office (Husky Hall 1130)
