The RUE Lab (Research on Undergraduate Education), located in Discovery 252, is a flexible classroom that has been designated as a space to support faculty who wish to conduct research to advance our understanding of teaching and learning. The RUE Lab allows faculty to implement innovative teaching strategies and simultaneously study the effect of those practices on student learning. The RUE lab has trapezoid shaped tables, with a default seat configuration for 10 groups of 6.
 
The RUE Lab contains:
  • Flexible furniture that can be moved in multiple configurations
  • ePodium (fixed)
  • 30 personal whiteboards for individual or groupwork
  • 8ft whiteboards, mounted in the front and back of the classroom
  • A 360° camera for recording class sessions for the purposes of their research on teaching and learning
  • Specialized audio and video recording equipment for faculty to use for the purposes of their research on teaching and learning
