Nathan Mead
Lecturer

Dr. Mead is a mechanical and manufacturing engineer with over twenty years of instructional experience. During that period he has taught over 50 different mechanical and manufacturing engineering courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels. His industrial experience includes the design and manufacturer of a range of entertainment robots as well as multiple injection molds and related parts. Currently he is working with an agricultural equipment manufacturer on the design of a low-profile tractor for orchard and steep terrain applications.  


Research

His primary interests are in machine design, computer-aided design, computer-aided manufacturing, automation, and control. Past research interests include neural networks and automated design systems including an innovative approach to optimizing the design of large dynamic structures.
