Cassandra Wright, Ph.D.
Dr. Wright is an assistant professor in the mechanical engineering program. She obtained her Ph.D. and M.S. in Bioengineering from Clemson University in 2012 and 2010, respectively. Prior to joining UW Bothell, she held an appointment as a postdoctoral research fellow and teaching fellow at Furman University from 2012 to 2014. Her interests are primarily in novel biomaterial development and characterization.
Her research interests focus on the development and characterization of polymers and composites for biomedical applications. There are two ongoing research topics in the lab: (1) modification and characterization of novel bearing surfaces for total joint replacements and (2) modification, characterization, and stimulation of intrinsically conducting polymer composites for neural tissue engineering scaffolds.
