Academic Interests:

Dr. Hopkins’ academic interests include school leadership, specifically as it relates to development of principals and principal coaching, as well as teacher leadership.  She works in the area of the role and strategies of school and district leadership in school reform to close the achievement gap.  She also focuses on seamless development of school leaders and effective educators from pre-service training through induction, and support for teachers/ teacher leaders as they grow in their career.  She has worked extensively in the area of school/university partnerships to prepare teachers and leaders in high needs schools.


Teaching activities:

Dr. Hopkins assists with the administration of the Leadership for Development of Educators Program (LEDE), supports administrative interns, and teaches LEDE 550A, Leading Inclusive School Communities.
