How long have you wanted to be a teacher?
I have wanted to be a teacher since I was a little girl living in Texas.

What is your favorite subject to teach?
English Language Art and ELL

What will you bring to your classroom from your life experiences?
I will bring flexibility to my classroom.

What do you think your students will like best about you?
That I am always smiling.

What was your background coming into the program?
I was living in Quito, Ecuador for the past seven years and working for a bilingual high school as an English Language Arts teacher for the past five years. I returned to the US to earn my masters in education in order to become a better teacher and always continue learning.

Where did you go to elementary school?
In Laredo, Texas

When you were a small child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to be a teacher, a marine biologist, and a geologist.

What does the word “cohort” mean to you?
A cohort to me is a close-knit group of people who have come together to study in order to help enrich the lives of future students.

Where would you most like to take a class of students outside of school?
To the Pacific Science Center.
