Class or Small Group Chat
- Class chat sessions are open to all students and instructors who are enrolled in the course.
View class chat sessions by going to Communication > Collaboration.
- Group chat sessions are only open to the students and instructors who are assigned to the group.
View group chat sessions by going to Communication > Group Pages > group name > Collaboration.
- Click Join to enter a discussion session.
- Click Recordings to view notes from a past discussion session.
- The Chat tool only allows you to chat with text.
The Virtual Classroom allows you to use an online whiteboard, a question inbox, and a group browser in addition to chat.
- Only instructors can create class Chat or Virtual Classroom collaboration sessions, but students can create group Chat or Virtual Classroom sessions in group pages.
- Note that all users are assigned a moderator status in small group chat mode.
- Some sessions have Start Date and End Date, so pay attention to that.
- You can also search and filter sessions with the bar on the top.
