Working on Assignments
If you have created an assignment in Blackboard, students can follow these steps to electronically submit their work for grading through the special assignment link. Sending files and comments via this link will automatically associate them with the proper assignment.
- Go to the content area where the assignment was created, which should usually be Assignments.
- Once at the right place, click on the View/Complete Assignment: assignment title link.
- View, read, and download assignment information at Name, Instructions, and Assignment Files.
- Text messages may be sent to an instructor via the Comments textbox. This textbox can also be used for completing short assignments that only require simple text answers.
- Click Attach local file to upload a file from your computer. This can be a Word document, Excel spreadsheet, PowerPoint presentation, a video clip, or any other file.
Click Browse...
Go to the location of your file and select it
Click Open
- At Currently Attached Files, click Add Another File and repeat the process above to submit multiple attachments. This section also lists any files that are already tagged for submission.
- Click on the Submit button to turn in your work. It will be sent when you get a notification of success. Students will only be able to submit an assignment once. If you have submitted a wrong assignment, contact the faculty member.
Note: Please be patient when uploading large files. It can take a while to transfer all of the data to the Blackboard server.
Note: Make sure that the type of file you submit can be viewed by the instructor. A good guideline should be that all submitted files should be openable by a UWB campus computer, unless your teachers has specified otherwise.
- Once an assignment is graded, students can see their score at Course Tools > My Grades. Feedback or returned files may be viewed by clicking on the assignment's grade point number.
