Welcome to your first year at UW Bothell!
Congratulations on making the choice of higher education. This first year will be full of new experiences and the First Year and Pre-Major Program (FYPP) office is here to help. We've put together a guide to help you navigate through your first year as a college student.
We will be communicating with you through weekly emails full of tips and resources to help you succeed this year. The cool part? You can take a sneak peak at the weeks ahead by clicking on hyperlinks below or on the left-hand menu!
Get a head start by setting up your email
This is important for your success here at UW Bothell. All major communications, including information from your professors will be sent to your UW email address.
The UW provides two cloud-based email systems that you can either use directly or set up a forwarding address. See the instructions below to set up an email forwarding address.
How to set up your NetID email to forward messages to an email you frequently check
- Log into MyUW. If you can’t remember your NetID or password, visit this link here.
- On the left hand side under ‘MyFrontPage’ click on ‘Email’
- Click on the link that says ‘Change Email Forwarding’
- Enter an email address that you check frequently and save by clicking
‘OK’ at the bottom
After you’ve set up your email, take a moment to reflect on the achievements you’ve already accomplished and congratulate yourself on making the decision to get a college education. Let’s make this first quarter a success!
What’s Welcome Week?
Welcome Week is a week of events hosted by various departments on campus to help you get acquainted with your campus. Some events are designed to help you network while others are more of a celebration to mark the beginning of the school year. View a full list of the events for this year here.
Look for our next communications letter
You will receive one every week. They will be filled with helpful tips, resources and suggested goals that will guide you all the way through finals week.
If you have any questions, do not hesitate to call the FYPP office and one of our Student Assistants will be more than glad to help you out. Our phone number is 425-352-3427. We are located in the Student Success Center at UW1-160 (this is not a room, but an open space)
