Kellye Y. Testy became the 14th permanent (and first woman) dean of the University of Washington School of Law in 2009. She also holds the James W. Mifflin University Professorship at the University of Washington. Under her leadership at UW Law, the school has adopted an ambitious mission as Leaders for the Global Common Good, increased the quality (including the diversity) of its student body, expanded interdisciplinary opportunities for students and faculty, and enhanced the scholarly accomplishments and reputation of its faculty. Dean Testy served as the Chair of the UW Presidential Search Committee, a Board of Regents’ appointment, and most recently was elected chair of the Board of Deans and Chancellors. A sought-after speaker, she is known throughout academic and legal communities for her dedication to the rule of law and its commitment to justice and equality.
