Using Public Folders in Outlook Web Access 2003

Public Folders are a way for a group of people to share email and calendaring resources. Most of what we covered in the previous tutorials will still apply here, as far as using calendars, and other such features. Mainly, this tutorial will just get you started.

You can access the UWB Public Folders by clicking the Public Folders icon on the lower-left hand corner:

Once you click on that icon, you will see now see a separate window, with a list of folders like so:

From here, you can now browse to the folder or calendar you want to use. Also notice the menu bar near the top:

Here, you can post new messages to the public folder, reply to other posts, etc. Also, as mentioned above, the calendaring feature in the public folders functions just the same as a personal calendar. In many ways, the public folders in Outlook Web Access 2003 behave just like they do in Outlook. As mentioned in an earlier tutorial, if you use a browser other than Internet Explorer, version 6, the interface will be different, so be aware of the differences.
