Forwarding Homer Email

Forwarding your email from Homer allows you to read all of your email in Outlook. Any mail sent to you at your Homer account will automatically appear in your Exchange mailbox, allowing you to read it with Outlook.

This process does NOT affect mail currently stored on Homer. All of the mail you receive there up until the time you follow these procedures will remain there. You can continue to access that mail as long as you need to, using the same process you have always used. The only difference is that new mail will not show up there, but will instead appear in your Exchange mailbox, viewable in Outlook.

To forward your mail from Homer

  1. Log into Homer.
  2. At the Main Menu, press O for Other choices.
  3. At the Other Choices menu press F for Mail Forwarding.
  4. Under Mail Addressed to on the left side of the screen select username@u with your arrow keys (looking for your own UW NetID there).
  5. Press E for Edit.
  6. Enter your Bothell address in the edit this address space, e.g., username@uwb.edu

NOTE: If you get the error message "Sorry username@uwb.edu doesn't seem to be an actual computer address SPACE To Continue" check the following:

    1. Make sure you didn't leave a space at the beginning or end of your address.
    2. Make sure to completely delete whatever address, if any, was originally in this field.
    3. Double check your spelling. If you are walking a user through this over the phone, you may want to ask them to read back to you what they have typed in.
  7. After you've changed the forwarding address press Enter.
  8. When it asks passable? type Y to save changes.

NOTE: You will get a message that says, "Sorry, Unable to verify ownership of address: username@uwb.edu. Do you want to make this change anyway? Please confirm [Y/N]:" Although this message makes it seem that the forwarding will not work, it will. Click Y to proceed.

  9. Press Q for Quit/save.
  10. Press Q again to return to the Main Menu.
