These directions apply to faculty/staff attempting to access UWB File Services from off-campus on a Mac OS X machine.
(For Mac OS X directions for students, please see Connecting to the Student File Server from Mac OS X. For Windows directions for faculty/staff, please see How to Access your Folders on the Faculty Staff File Server from Off-Campus.)
Please note that this process will differ based on what version of Mac OS X you have. If you are not sure what version you have, you can click on the Apple Menu in the upper left-hand corner and go to About This Mac.
Newer versions of Mac OS X have integrated WebDAV capabilities, so connecting to UWB File Services is greatly simplified.
1. In the default Finder window, click on the Go menu (on the top left of the screen), and choose Connect to Server... Alternately, you can press Cmd+K on the keyboard.
2. In the Connect to Server window that appears, type in https://webfiles.uwb.edu/faculty-staff/home . You can, after typing the address, click on the + button to add it as a favorite.
3. Click Connect.
4. You will then be prompted for username/password. Enter your UWB username (the account used to log on to UWB campus computers) and password.
The window that opens will display your personal folder. Here are a few other resources that you might need to access:
In order to access UWB File Services with earlier versions of OS X, you will first have to download Goliath, a freeware application which can be found at http://www.webdav.org/goliath/. To download it now, click here. The disk image should appear on your desktop looking something like this:
Open it up and drag the Goliath 1.0.1 folder to your Applications (or wherever you would like to install it). Now that it is installed, we'll start a connection:
1. Open the Goliath application (inside of the Goliath 1.0.1 folder).
2. In the New WebDAV Connection window, enter https://webfiles.uwb.edu/faculty-staff/home for the URL. This will take you to your personal folder. Enter your UWB username (the account used to log on to UWB campus computers) and password.
The window that opens will display your personal folder. Here are a few other resources that you might need to access:
