New Venue, Date, and Time
The Office of Commencement has been working alongside a committee of students and staff to identify and secure a new venue that will provide the best commencement experience for graduates and loved ones. After a thorough process that included your valued feedback, we submitted a joint recommendation to the Office of the President and the Board of Regents for approval.
The Office of Commencement is excited to announce the new date, time, and venue for the 2017 Commencement Ceremony:
Tuesday, June 13, 2017
4:00 – 7:00 p.m.
Commencement is Changing
In the last month, we have conducted an extensive analysis of available dates and venues. We gathered input from students through student focus groups and from an online survey sent by ASUWB. The commencement committee (composed of students and staff) has submitted its recommendations to Chancellor Yeigh. This report is currently being reviewed by the President’s office and the UW Board of Regents. We will notify you by email, update our website and Facebook page as soon as possible so you and your families can make plans accordingly.
Commencement is Under Review
The Office of Commencement is undergoing a thorough review of the annual commencement ceremony. Due to the growth in recent years, we have outgrown the current venue. This is an opportunity to review the ceremony in its entirety – venue, day of the week, program structure, and more.
