UW - CIAC Army Reserve Scholarship Program

armyreserve-(1).jpgnsa.pngUniversity of Washington CIAC in partnership with the National Security Agency and United States Army Reserve is pleased to announce the opportunity for Cyber Security Scholarships for Army Reservist Soldiers. University of Washington CIAC will use of NCAE’s BAA-004-16 financial grant for the development of Army Reserve personnel and technical research in order to advance the human capital and technical capabilities in the field of Cyber Security to protect cyber security and critical infrastructure.
 

Scholarships Available:

10 full scholarships to the on-line Master Infrastructure Planning and Management  combined with the on-line Information Security Risk Management Certificate
15 full scholarships for the just the Information Security Risk Management Certificate depending upon the availability of funding.
 
UW CIAC is one of the six higher education institutions to sign onto the PrivatePublicPartnership Initiative (P3i) with the United States Army Reserve Cyber Command.

Information Assurance Scholarship Program - Department of Defense (DoD)

The Information Assurance Scholarship Program (IASP) is accepting application now until May 10th for UW students enrolled in in 3rd or 4th years of undergraduate education, and current or prospective students in UW master’s degree or doctoral degree programs.* Some acceptable academic disciplines with concentrations in cybersecurity are posted on the CIAC education page.
 
 
Qualifications:
  • US Citizenship and ability to pass background security check
  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Acceptance to or enrollment in a UW approved degree program*
  • GPA- 3.2 Undergraduate / 3.5 Graduate
  • Full-time student enrollment
  • Active Duty Military/Active Guard & Reserve, or students with an existing service obligation (Scholarship for Service students) are not eligible to apply this cycle
  • After graduation there is a DoD employment obligation

Benefits:

  • All books, tuition, and fees are paid by the scholarship
  • Internship requirements provide hands on experience
  • Stipend for undergraduates: $22,500
  • Stipend for graduate students $30,000

Submit by: May 1st for priority consideration; and no later than May 15th 
  • IASP Application
  • Resume
  • 1 letter of reference from a current faculty member
  • 1 letter of reference from a former faculty member
  • Official (certified) transcripts from all institutions of higher learning

Scholarships are awarded on an annual basis. Re-applications in 2018, pending funding, to complete a degree are encouraged.
