Presenters: Camille Walsh, PhD, JD, Assistant Professor; Michelle Gehlsen, Judge, King County Municipal Courts: Bothell; Karen Terrado, AmeriCorps*VISTA
Bothell Youth Court Outreach Coordinator; and UWB Students
This workshop will introduce participants to the concept of restorative justice through an interactive set of role-playing exercises and a re-enactment of a youth court case. Participants will take on/observe various roles in a mock youth court session in order to contemplate alternatives to the traditional criminal justice system, and they will witness student co-leaders re-enact a youth court case resolved in a non-punitive manner.
