Maps, as a form of design, generate specific images of space. Maps provide information about physical space, interpretation of space, and the users’ experiences. Participatory and alternative visualization processes enable us to create “new” maps for daily navigation.
In this session, we will discuss how new ways of visualizing our campus influence our understanding and production of campus space with a simple mapping exercise called “Remapping UWB Campus”. We will try to imagine different ways of using and creating our campus spaces (e.g officially mapped campus space vs. re-conceptualization of campus space).
