As a nation, we are still trying to understand to the grim realities of the tragedy that unfolded in Charlottesville. I hope you will all read the deeply personal statement President Ana Mari Cauce sent to the University community earlier this morning. Groups like those white supremacists who marched in Charlottesville spew a philosophy that is counter to everything we stand for as an institution of higher learning.
