UW Bothell raises its minimum wage

At UW Bothell, we have been planning and budgeting for an increase to our minimum wage for more than a year. Although the Bothell campus is not subject to Seattle’s new law, we made the decision to budget for this change and follow UW Seattle’s increase schedule. Many units on our campus have been paying $13 an hour for quite some time. Subject to UW Seattle’s successful conclusion of ongoing negotiations with the unions, the increase will take effect in two stages: On January 1, 2016, the minimum wage for all workers, including student workers, will move to $13 an hour, and to $15 an hour on January 1, 2017.
I am committed to our employees making a living wage, and I appreciate my leadership team for its vision in making UW Bothell the exceptional institution that it is today.
