School-based Mentoring
UW Bothell students will be matched one-on-one as a mentor with a student at Frank Love, Kenmore or Woodin Elementary School. Mentoring is approx. 1 hour a week. We can work with students to come up a project or projects in addition to the mentoring in order to ensure they reach their hour requirement. We require a school year commitment; students who begin in the fall will be required to stick with the program for the remainder of the school year. Students who start in the spring would be expected to commit to a calendar year of volunteering, they would have the summer off, but we would expect them to meet with their mentee again the following school year. Position requires an interest in working with children, consistency, and good communication skills.
[Mondays - Fridays 8:40am - 3:00pm]
Community-based Mentoring
UW Bothell students will be matched in a one-on-one mentoring relationship with in a child in their community who is on our waiting list. Volunteers and their Little Brother or Little Sister get together 2 - 4 times a month to share in activities like playing basketball, watching a movie or going to a museum. We provide free tickets to our matches as we have them for sporting and other events and we host activities for our matches to participate in if they choose. Being a mentor in this program is flexible, fun and easy! The minimum commitment is for one calendar year. Position requires an interest in working with children, consistency, and good communication skills.
[Mondays - Fridays afterschool, Saturdays and Sundays all day]
