Technology-oriented businesses face many challenges, including rapid change and global competition. The MBA Program at the University of Washington Bothell, prepares leaders to meet these challenges head-on by providing them with the business, analytical, team, and communication skills needed for personal and organizational success.
This AACSB-accredited, evening degree program was developed in collaboration with representatives from leading regional software, telecommunications, biotechnology, and high-tech manufacturing companies. The program is built on a core of traditional business courses such as strategy, finance, economics, accounting, statistics, marketing, operations, project management and organizational behavior, and is augmented by specialized courses focusing on issues of particular concern to technology-oriented organizations.

The MBA Program at the UW Bothell is open to professionals who have an undergraduate degree in any field. Prior courses in business are not required. However, all applicants accepted into the program must complete the following prerequisites:
Program participants should be highly motivated and have a personal record of achievement and responsibility. Duration and type of professional work experience will figure prominently in the evaluation of applicants. To ensure a dynamic and productive learning environment, participants should also be adept at managing their time, challenging themselves, and combining their business experience and coursework in meaningful ways. In addition, students are expected to adhere to the UW Bothell Academic Conduct Code. Acceptance of admission into the program constitutes acceptance of this code.
Approximately 40 students are admitted to the MBA Program annually for Autumn Quarter.

The MBA Program at UW Bothell combines coursework with field experience in a team-based environment. MBA courses emphasize case studies and projects that challenge students to apply and extend what they learn in class to real-world business situations.
First year courses focus on key management functions and activities, including strategic management, financial and managerial accounting, economics, managerial statistics, marketing management, managing individuals and teams, financial management, leadership, and decision-making.
The second year builds on this foundation by introducing the functions of operations management, organizational management, and project management. In addition, the second year emphasizes the management of technology and innovation, new product marketing, and legal and global dimensions of technology-oriented business.
The program concludes with an integrated business practicum designed to integrate knowledge from all of the functional areas of business. A limited number of electives are offered in the summer.
The program is designed to be completed in 22 months of evening study. As a cohort, each class takes the common set of courses in sequence, except for electives, and graduates together. Students will complete a total of 74 credit hours.
Throughout the 22-month program, students learn from their peers who possess rich and diverse backgrounds in business, technology, and other fields. Students also sharpen skills in group communication, problem solving, and presentation as they work together to accomplish their goals. Additionally, guest lecturers from local businesses bring their insight and experience to the classroom to discuss the challenges and opportunities managers face today.
