Communications Intern


Reports to: Director of Development & Communications
$15 per hour (Temporary) up to 20 hours/week
The Communications Internship will provide an opportunity to work collaboratively
with committed professionals including senior level staff and Board of Directors to publicize the
great work that Workforce Snohomish is doing in our community.
Workforce Snohomish is a recipient of multiple funding sources in addition to the Workforce
Innovation and Opportunity Act. Based on the knowledge, skills and abilities of employees and
the business needs of the company, employees may be assigned additional duties as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Produce, review and approve event flyers for both Workforce Snohomish and its partners
  • Produce and publish press-releases
  • Publish monthly newsletters, maintain subscriber lists and analyze newsletter metrics
  • Perform regular updates to the Workforce Snohomish social media pages including Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn
  • Assist in the creation and implementation of marketing strategy and tactics
  • Develop a social media plan for Workforce Snohomish
  • Assist Development Team with the organization’s strategic planning activities
  • Perform related duties as assigned
Essential Skills and Experience:
  • Marketing, Business or Communications major
  • Social media proficiency including Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn
  • Skilled with Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Publisher
  • Strong writing skills
  • Strong work ethic, positive attitude and ability to be self-driven and work effectively and productively with minimal supervision
  • Experience with Google Apps, preferred
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, preferred
Ability to perform a range of physical motions including but not limited to:
  • Frequently sits for extended periods while performing desktop activities
  • Repetitively uses hands and wrists on computers and telephone
