International Student Ambassador (ISA) Program

The International Student Ambassadors (ISA) at Center for International Education (CIE) are a group of knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and resourceful international student leaders that assist CIE’s daily operation and marketing efforts. ISAs are a vital component of CIE’s recruitment efforts and an important recourse for new and prospective international students.

General Information:

  • This position is 10 – 15 hours a week
  • $15/hr

Responsibilities:

Recruitment/Marketing

  • Attend and provide assistance at international transfer/resource fairs at community college, high school, and ESL
  • Answer inquiries from prospective students and applicants via email, phone, and skype
  • Provides campus tours for prospective international students and guests visiting campus
  • Organize and track school visit schedule and other recruitment activities
  • Prepare school visit materials and create marketing materials
  • Reach out to incomplete applicants and prospective students
  • Maintain and update social media contents (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Weibo) to connect with prospective and current students

Event Planning

  • Assists in the planning and facilitating of the quarterly International Student Orientation
  • Participate in international student graduation event
  • Plans, promotes, and facilitates quarterly programs for international students
  • Organize and promote bi-weekly International Student Gathering event

Administrative Assistance

  • Answer emails and phone calls and refer students to appropriate resources if needed
  • Act as a front-desk person of the office to greet visitors and facilitate office activities
  • Complete necessary paperwork and reports in a timely manner 
  • Provide general office support as needed

Eligibility

  • Applicants must be a student of UW Bothell
  • Applicants must have and maintain at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA throughout their employment.
  • Candidates must have spent at least one quarter at UW Bothell
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills as well as a strong work ethic and dependability
  • Collaborate professionally in a team environment, maintaining professional demeanor at all times with patience and persistence
  • Cultural sensitivity and awareness

 Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in event planning
  • Experience in student mentoring
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to communicate in non-English language
  • Basic computer knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office applications
  • Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail/accuracy
