Doing What He Loves

"Have you ever wanted to wake up and say 'I love my job'? I can honestly say that now. My experience at UWB is a vital part of my success," explains Curtis Takahashi.

Curtis holds a bachelor's degree from the IAS program at UWB class of 2004. He joined Workforce Development Council Snohomish County in September 2007 as a Service Delivery Manager - Careers. He uses the critical thinking and writing skills gained at UWB to manage projects and develop resources toward the goal of building a Snohomish County workforce development system that is 100% globally competitive. With over fifteen years in the career development field, Curtis reflects, "The completion of my degree certainly helped further my career; however I also built honest relationships over time. Be patient but also be ready to recognize and seize opportunities when they arise."

Another part of his UWB educational experience was the discovery of creative writing skills he still uses to craft short fiction, which he promises that one day he'll get around to finishing and publishing. You can also find him playing music, golfing, hiking, biking, or enjoying a ballgame from the left field bleachers at Safeco Field.
