After almost a decade of waiting tables and bartending, I decided it was time for a change. Choosing to go to UW Bothell was the best decision I could have made. I entered UW Bothell with few marketable skills outside of the restaurant industry, and left with the confidence and resume that enabled me to land the amazing job I have today.
My experience as a Global Studies major with a Minor in Human Rights provided me with excellent written and oral communication skills as well as a better understanding of myself and others. The one-on-one guidance I received from my professors helped me identify my areas of strength and cultivated a true love of learning that I didn’t know was in me! This incredible learning environment, coupled with my experience as a student worker in the Career Center ignited a newfound appreciation for the power of education, and through that discovery, I was able to identify my passion and my career path.
I now work as the Program Coordinator for the Continuing Education program at North Seattle Community College. I love being in a field that fosters a love for lifelong learning, and I feel challenged to think and grow every day. I would not be here today if it weren’t for the network connections and top-notch education I received from the faculty, staff and fellow students at UW Bothell.
