Coasting through the Community
Program Coordinator, Center for Service-Learning, Edmonds Community College
After a one-year term in AmeriCorps serving as a Marine Resources Program Assistant with Snohomish County Surface Water Management, Amy then got a job as Edmonds Community College’s first full-time Program Coordinator with the Center for Service-Learning in January 2009. She has worked in that position for two years, but has been involved in the service-learning field for over eight years as a student, community partner, and an administrator. Her position allows her to liaise with local community organizations, plan events, assist faculty with course curriculum, and manage an AmeriCorps Scholarship program. When not working, you can usually find Amy spending time outdoors (particularly coastal environments), volunteering her time to teach others about sustainability, and listening to a wide variety of music. She truly believes that each person can make a difference in their community, and enjoys seeing that realization spark in everyone she meets.
