I came to University of Washington Bothell as a junior after finishing my AA degree at North Seattle Community College. Within my first quarter I fell in love with the rich atmosphere that I had entered. All of my professors that quarter were experts in their field and possessed a deep desire to share their knowledge. Each one challenged me to improve my writing, research, and communication skills in ways that were both surprising and useful. These new skills and knowledge created a strong foundation my professional work.
Currently I work at the Digital Future Lab at UW Bothell doing research and development in interactive media. As an IAS graduate I am equipped to interpret and disseminate information on multiple platforms. The focus on interdisciplinary work and communication in the school of IAS has enabled me to facilitate cross discipline design projects, working with artists, web devs, designers, and writers. The rich and diverse content of my classes and school population increased my cultural competency as well as my commitment to global citizenship.
