After graduating high school, I began attending UWB in 2010. I constantly looked for opportunities on campus to meet new people, be involved, and continue to learn and grow outside of the classroom. I joined the Services and Activities Fee Committee in 2010 and helped build budgets for student organizations and programs on campus. I had the opportunity to gain new skills, have a positive impact on the campus community and expand my network. Throughout my experience at UWB, I continued to be a part of this committee and also went on to be a student assistant in the Office of Student Life and a diversity programmer. With the help and guidance of the Career Center, I was able to prepare a strong resume and practice interviewing. I graduated in 2013 with my bachelor’s in accounting and finance. Now, as a financial analyst with Amazon, I continue to apply the skills I learned during my education and experience at UWB and continue to seek opportunities to grow. I now work on driving process improvements, data analysis, and assessment of risk and internal controls. My advice to current and future students: make the most of your time at UWB! Look for ways to learn and grow outside of the classroom by being involved on campus. You’ll be amazed at the opportunities available for you and the commitment of the staff and faculty to helping you succeed.
