Under the direct supervision of the Division Controller, this position serves as the contact person for all Project Managers, performing accounts payable and receivable duties, and other accounting functions according to established procedures or as directed.  Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize, and organize diversified workload to ensure department operations flow smoothly.

Essential Functions:

  • Processes and verifies invoices to ensure accurate payment on a timely basis.
  • Maintains necessary records and files, to include utilizing external contract-mandated software to log payments as necessary.
  • Investigates and resolves queries by vendors and Project Managers.
  • Processes payments on computer systems and prepares checks for disbursement.
  • Processes accounts receivable invoices for current projects.
  • Prepares monthly B&O and revenue taxes.
  • Assists Project Managers in project close-outs.
  • Assists in the preparation of periodic miscellaneous reports and special projects.

  • Mentality/Attitude: the individual maintains a positive, team-centric work ethic and attitude while working with different personalities and departments.

Education:

  • Associates degree in Accounting or related field.
  • Bachelor’s in Accounting and 0-1 years of accounting/internship experience.

Experience:

  • Knowledge of general office practices; general accounting procedures; general ledger; engineering and construction terminology.
  • Ability to prepare records, reports, and correspondence neatly and professionally; 10-key calculator and computer using standard word processing, spreadsheet and date inquiry software (MS Word, Excel).
  • Must be able to interact and communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization; establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers and the general public.

Typical Physical Demands:

  • May sit for long periods of time.
  • Infrequent walking up and down one flight of stairs to reach the upper office.
  • May require infrequent lifting up to 25lbs.
