For the benefit of the campus, Pete was part of the founding faculty of what is now the School of Business. At this time, the entire campus was contained in a leased building called Canyon Park. That group included Associate Professor Kevin Laverty, Anne York, Associate Professor Pete Nye, Professor Ken Walters and Professor P.V. (Sundar) Balakrishnan (photographed from left to right in the photo below).Founding Faculty - BusinessThis group came to our community with a vision for a glorious future. Today, with the retirement of Pete, that group must be honored and thanked for their immense contributions. We stand on the shoulders of these colleagues and their contributions.

Pete cares so much about the students and their experience and his legacy in our community is immense. A tireless advocate for students, Pete has been known to spend weekends and late nights mentoring students. He has pushed our thinking on how we approach education itself; has won teaching awards; led the very first study abroad program that was organized by our school (a trip to Ghana); helped deepen our passionate commitment to writing and invested himself in helping students through DECA. His efforts bore great results.

Pete has also always been a great colleague. He has gone out of the way to help colleagues in need.

Thank you, Pete, for everything. We will always treasure what you gave this community and wish you the best on your next endeavors.
