It is my distinct pleasure to inform you that the University of Washington, Bothell Chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma has voted to recognize the outstanding scholastic achievements of several members of the undergraduate graduating class of 2008. These individuals have been invited to become lifetime members of the national honor society Beta Gamma Sigma (BGS). An invitation to become a member in BGS is the highest recognition a business student anywhere in the world can receive.
There will be a formal induction ceremony followed by a reception to honor them on Friday, May 16th at UW1-210 at 3:30 pm. On behalf of the Business Program, I invite you to the BGS Induction Ceremony (followed by a reception). Please come and celebrate with your distinguished fellow students and their families on this special occasion. The names of these distinguished students who are being inducted into this prestigious honor society this year will be announced later (stay tuned).
Beta Gamma Sigma (BGS) is the honor society for students enrolled in colleges of business administration. Its counterparts in arts and science and engineering are Phi Beta Kappa and Tau Beta Pi, respectively. To be eligible for membership, the academic ranking of those being considered must place among the very best academically. In fact, fewer than the top 10% of the senior undergraduate class and fewer than the top 20% of the graduating master's class are invited to receive this special honor. Membership in this honor society is by invitation. This is very prestigious as BGS invites only the very best students in business to this distinguished honor of life time membership. Once again, I hope you will join me in congratulating those who are being inducted this year.
Best,
Dr. P.V. (Sundar) Balakrishnan
