Dr. Valerie Li is an Assistant Professor of Accounting in the UWB School of Business. She received her Ph.D. in Accounting from University of Washington, Seattle. Her research focuses on corporate misconduct and earnings quality. In her research on corporate misconduct, she examines the impact of financial misstatements on peer firms’ real operations. In her research on earnings quality, she explores ways to improve the measurement of the quality of financial report.
Prior to joining the Ph.D program, Valerie Li worked in one of the biggest Chinese import and export company – China Resources Company, and obtained an MBA from the University of Massachusetts Boston.
Valerie Li has taught Financial Accounting courses and Managerial Accounting Courses at the University of Washington, Seattle. She is a member of American Accounting Association.
