Michael grew up outside Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and began his career with The Boeing Company 32 years ago as a drill press operator. He has held a variety of jobs in operations and human resources, and recently retired as director of organization development for Material Management in Commercial Aviation Services. That position gave him an opportunity to help improve the performance of individuals and teams, and gain an insight into management and leadership. He currently teaches Strategic Communications in University of Washington’s Foster School of Business, and a variety of organizational behavior classes at UW Bothell. He also facilitates leadership development workshops at the Boeing Leadership Center in St. Louis and consults with a variety of companies in the private and public sector.
Michael’s academic study has focused on improving individual and team behavior through increasing our emotional intelligence. He holds a BA in English and Sociology, an MS in educational psychology, and a Ph.D. in adult education from Kansas State University.
Michael is married with three children. In his spare time, he and his family like to go where the weather is warm and the waves are high.
