Lorna Hardin holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in accounting from Pennsylvania State University and Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, respectively. After earning her master’s degree, she joined KPMG in Philadelphia, PA. She subsequently became licensed as a CPA (Pennsylvania) and worked as a senior tax accountant, specializing in high net worth individuals. Clients included Pittsburgh industrialists and their families, including a member of the Forbes’ 400. For a period, she left public accounting to work in corporate tax at American Eagle Outfitter’s world headquarters in Pittsburgh, PA.
Dr. Hardin earned her PhD in Business Administration (Accounting) from the University of Pittsburgh. Her research interests include taxation, the effects of regulated disclosure, and market microstructure analysis. Recent courses she has taught include Principles of Managerial Accounting, Managerial Accounting and Control (Cost), and Federal Income Taxation.
