The 2013 Business Plan Competition is Here!
This is your chance to learn how to create a professional business plan from experts at The Entrepreneurship Center.
Business Outline Due Date
Completed business outlines must be emailed to jch33@myuw.net at UW Bothell by 11:59 PM, April 5, 2013. If you have any questions in respect to the rules, and the format of the semifinals drop by the Entrepreneursihp Center in the afternoon of April 5th. The center will be open to answer all your questions from 4-7:00 pm.
Eligibility
UW Bothell students can form a team with non-student business community members or alumni, however only registered students may present in the competition semi-final and final rounds.
Student teams entering the University of Washington Bothell’s Business Plan Competition must be full-time or part-time students who are enrolled in degree seeking programs at the University of Washington Bothell or with permission to submit from the Director of the The Entrepreneurship Center.
Business Plan
The business plan must be developed during the students’ tenure at the University. Students working with outside entrepreneurs must create an original business plan.
Students must have an ownership stake in the business or the potential for equity or employment.
Judging
In the semi-finals round only student team members can present the new business concept to the judges.
In final round of the competition only student team members will be allowed to make presentations to the judges.
Only student team members are eligible to earn prize money. No payments will be made to non-students.
The Director of The Entrepreneurship Center reserves the right to make the final determination of the eligibility of submitted business ventures.
Confidentiality
The UWB Business Plan Competition considers all submitted business plans as confidential and treats all team matters accordingly. However, we cannot guarantee complete confidentiality for proprietary matters.
We strongly encourage any team with concerns regarding intellectual property, copyright, or patent confidentiality to contact competent legal counsel. The University of Washington Bothell, The Entrepreneurship Center and the organizers, sponsors, mentors, or judges of the competition are not responsible for any proprietary information and/or intellectual property included in a submitted business plan.
Ultimately, protection of sensitive materials is the sole responsibility of the individual or team participating in the competition.
