The BDC is housed at the UW Bothell's Business Program. Business Program Director Steve Holland oversees strategy and partnership development for the BDC.
Walter Freytag, Ph.D., BDC Director
Dr. Freytag is the Assistant Director of the Business Program at UW Bothell. Walt's professional experience is in the area of human resource management and development. Walt teaches courses in several areas including leadership, team processes, motivation and human resource management. He is a member of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology and the Applied Psychological Society. Walt is active in the community and is Vice President of the Bellevue Entrepreneur Center.
Kristen Spangler, MBA, Small Business Development Counselor
Kristen came to UWB after having served as the Executive Director of Eco Encore, a social enterprise that turns donated books and media products into funding for environmental groups. She earned her MBA from UW in 2004. She is a specialist in nonprofit management, consulting, and training, having worked with dozens of nonprofit organizations at The Innovation Center for Community and Youth Development.
