Nutrition

To become a Nutritionist/Dietitian you must complete a four year undergraduate degree or a masters level program in nutritional sciences/dietetics.  Please know that UW Bothell does not have an undergraduate degree in nutritional sciences/dietetics.  There are four universities in Washington State that do, so if you are interested in an undergraduate degree in nutrition, please consult with the pre-health advisor.

The other option is to pursue a masters level program.  Preparing yourself to apply to a masters in nutritional science involves completing the program specific prerequisite courses, getting good grades in all of your courses, gaining experience in the field (through work, volunteering, and shadowing), and taking the GRE.  Most masters programs do not have a required major, but do prefer a major with a science emphasis.

Please meet with the pre-health advisor to discuss the best pathway for you.
