Advancement and External Relations


This position exists to provide basic support and assistance for the Office of Advancement Student AssistantAdvancement and External Relations at UW Bothell. The student assistant will perform a variety of tasks including writing, advertising, social networking, development/fundraising, alumni relations and stewardship, and general office duties. Additionally, the student assistant will help with events and other duties as assigned.

General Information:

  • This position is 19 hours per week with a flexible schedule.
  • Work Study is preferred.

General Duties:

Assist the Advancement Office in duties including:

  • Writing media releases
  • Conducting interviews with faculty, staff and alumni
  • Writing copy for print and web publications
  • Assisting with the UW Bothell website
  • Advertising
  • Researching
  • Grant writing
  • Stewardship and researching donors
  • Emailing correspondence
  • Planning and staffing of events (both on campus and off)
  • Performing office general office tasks including: electronic and postal mailings, data entry, organize office materials, answer telephones
  • Working with various university staff on projects

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Strong communication and writing skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment
  • Experience on computers in a Windows environment
  • Customer service experience
  • Experience in an office clerical environment
