Job Title: Web Design Student Assistant

Help us expand and improve UW Bothell's Web site. Assistant will learn about web design, usability, editing and marketing. A great opportunity for those interested in careers in web design, marketing or communications!

General Info:

  • Starts immediately
  • Approximately 19 hours per week
  • flexible work schedule available

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Improve and add to the UW Bothell website
  • Help with coding HTML and CSS
  • Perform user testing
  • Keep website content up to date
  • Edit graphics and photos
  • Other office duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Desire to learn about web design, marketing, and communications
  • Web design experience
  • Advanced knowledge of HTML and CSS
  • Some experience with Photoshop
  • Strong project management skills
  • Comfortably work with university staff
  • Knowledge of JavaScript a plus

Job Title: Student Assistant

Are you a storyteller who is ready to expand your multimedia skills? This position provides hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment. The student assistant will help shape the voice and image of UW Bothell, provide basic support for the Office of Advancement and External Relations at UW Bothell, and help with events and other duties as assigned.

General Information:

  • This position is 19 hours per week. Work hours are flexible, but dependability is essential.
  • Work Study is preferred.

General Duties:

Assist the Advancement Office in duties including, but not limited to:

  • Completing assigned UW Bothell stories on deadline using the written word, photos and/or video for multiple platforms
  • Conducting interviews with students, faculty, staff and alumni
  • Research
  • Writing copy for print
  • Writing media releases
  • Tracking media coverage
  • Emailing correspondence
  • Planning and staffing of events (both on campus and off).
  • Performing office general office tasks including: electronic and postal mailings, data entry, organize office materials, answer telephones
  • Working with various university staff on projects

  • Strong communication and writing skills
