At the University of Washington Bothell, we are committed to helping you make your dreams of becoming a Husky true! We know that you have worked hard to get to this point in your educational career and that college can be expensive. That is why we want to reward your hard work and help you get to college!  The following are Merit Scholarships that we can offer to prospective students.

Washington State Resident Scholarships

Applicants admitted to an academic program will be considered for up to a $1,000 per quarter (maximum of 3 consecutive quarters) Merit Scholarship if they:

  • Apply by the priority application date for the academic program you wish to enroll.
  • Are offered admission to an academic program.
  • Have a 3.5 cumulative transfer GPA or higher.
  • Are a Washington State Resident and U.S. Citizen/Permanent Resident.
  • Maintain a GPA of 3.2 or higher and earn at least 12-graded credits per quarter.

Out-of-State Student Scholarships

For students that are United States citizens or permanent residents but are not residents of the state of Washington, UW Bothell offers Purple & Gold Scholar Awards. Submit your completed admissions application by the priority application deadline. No separate scholarship application is required. This is a renewable, merit-based scholarship.

PURPLE AWARD ($7,000)

3.0 to 3.49 on a 4.0 scale.

GOLD AWARD ($15,000)

3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale.

The Purple & Gold Scholar Awards are renewable, providing you maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher, earn at least 12-graded credits per quarter, and retain your nonresident status as defined above. This award has a maximum eligibility of 12-continuous quarters (excluding Summer Quarter). The actual number of quarters eligible for the award varies depending upon the number of transfer credits awarded upon admission: 9 quarters if transferring with 44 credits or less; 6 quarters with 45 to 89 credits; and 3 quarters with 90 to 134 credits.
